Strava Interface Improvement Design

About

Individual Project

AREA:

Interface Design, Behavioral Psychology

DESCRIBPTION:

I conducted a brief analysis and enhancement of the Strava interface to better align it with behavioral psychology principles, aiming to improve its effectiveness in helping users adopt and maintain a consistent running habit.

How to Keep Running?

Sometimes we get the idea of running for weight loss, a healthy body, or to improve our mood. Therefore, as Strava is the exercise tracking app we often use, how can we improve it through behavioral psychology to help people form a running habit?

Design Target

User: The people who want to start running to keep health or have a diet.
APP: Strava
Key Behavior: After they decide to start, let them run over 1km once a week during the first month.

Strava too difficult to use

Pain Point

Simplify (Make sure that the key message is presented early, ideally in the first sentence or subject line; Keep language simple; Make it easy)

Plan & Reminder (Be specific about recommended actions; Make it Timely)

No good weather, no time, no good environment

Difficult to continue, lose enthusiasm

Reminder & Accomplishment (Motivator & Incentive theory)
